Plastic life

2015

Examining various surfaces of natural organisms through the microscopic lens, I found myself being fascinated by the diversity of vivid colors and recurrent motives nature creates.

With these images as a starting point, I chose a non-precious, consumable material (smoking filters) as my primary cell to transform it into a structural element in a game of endless synthetic possibilities.

Through the repetition of these elements, along with the way they are attached to each other my pieces obtain their organic movement, increasing the rhythm of my syntheses.
